Delhi logs 2,602 influenza cases with H1N1 the main strain
Delhi has logged 2,602 influenza cases as of Friday, with most infections linked to the H1N1 strain, also known as swine flu.
Just on August 20, there were 159 new cases: 114 of those were H1N1.
If you're in Delhi, it's worth knowing that H1N1 is the main player this season.
Delhi issues health advisory, monitors hospitals
To tackle the outbreak, the Delhi government has put out a health advisory: wear masks in crowded places, practice good hygiene, and don't ignore symptoms like fever or cough.
They're also keeping an eye on things by monitoring 35 hospitals and designating two referral laboratories at AIIMS and the National Centre for Disease Control for testing and monitoring.
Public awareness campaigns and extra training for healthcare workers are part of their plan to keep everyone safer.
