Delhi Master Plan 2047 puts healthcare access at neighborhood level
Delhi's new Master Plan 2047 is aiming to make healthcare much more accessible and modern.
The idea is to set up six neighborhood health centers and three hospitals for every 100,000 people, all closely linked with where people live and how they get around.
There will also be sub-city hospitals, addiction recovery centers, special facilities for children and seniors, plus new nursing and paramedical institutes and medical colleges, making sure no one is left out.
Delhi introduces health centre category
A new Health Centre category will bring maternity homes, family welfare centers, and diagnostic centers right into local neighborhoods.
For every 500,000 residents, there will be three sub-city hospitals and a de-addiction and rehabilitation center, plus dedicated disaster units in case of emergencies or pandemics (think testing labs ready to go).
The plan also makes it easier to build healthcare facilities in crowded areas so everyone can actually get the care they need.
