Delhi Police arrest 72-year-old Hari Singh Shekhawat over alleged extortion

After dodging police for nearly 15 years, 72-year-old Hari Singh Shekhawat has been arrested by Delhi Police.
He was wanted since 2008 for allegedly attempting to extort money from a multinational garment company he once worked for.
Despite repeatedly failing to appear before the court, he evaded legal proceedings and was officially declared a proclaimed offender back in 2016.
Special Cell located Shekhawat in Jaipur
To avoid arrest, Shekhawat kept moving, first to Gujarat, then Rajasthan, changing addresses.
The Special Cell spent over a month on human surveillance before getting a tip about his location in a Jaipur residential society earlier this August.
A team led by Sub-Inspector Rakesh confirmed who he was and took him into custody without any drama.
