Delhi Police incinerates massive narcotics haul

Delhi Police just destroyed 1,629kg of narcotics—worth over ₹3,274 crore—as part of the "Nasha Mukt Bharat Pakhwada" campaign.
This big move happened on the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking and included cannabis, cocaine, Alprazolam powder, heroin, and opium.
Another 92kg of seized drugs from Rohini and New Delhi districts were also wiped out at a facility in Jahangirpuri.

TL;DR

Campaign and drug-related actions so far this year

Since June 12, the campaign has focused on raids, awareness drives, training sessions, and campus searches to tackle drug abuse in the city.
In just two weeks, police detained over 5,100 people linked to drugs or other illegal activities during intensified operations like Operation Kavach 8.0 across 15 districts.
So far this year: more than 1,100 drug cases filed, nearly 1,500 traffickers arrested—and assets worth over ₹7 crore seized with even more under review.
