Delhi Police nab 6th suspect in 'Special 26'-style fake IT raid
India
Delhi Police have caught the sixth person linked to a daring fake Income Tax raid at a Karol Bagh jewelry workshop—an incident straight out of a Bollywood plot.
On November 27, a group posing as tax officers (and one dressed as a cop) pulled off a sham search and made off with about 1.1kg of gold.
How the arrest unfolded and what's next
Sheikh Akram, 49, was tracked down and arrested on December 14 after days of surveillance.
He allegedly admitted to his role and is believed to have tipped off the gang's mastermind, Parminder (already in custody), about the target.
Police recovered over 130gm of gold and a motorcycle from Akram; earlier searches turned up more gold.
The hunt continues for other suspects and the rest of the stolen gold.
