Delhi Police uncover major ATF smuggling operation
Delhi Police have uncovered a long-running racket where six men, led by ex-tanker driver Gaya Prasad Yadav, were stealing aviation turbine fuel (ATF) meant for Indira Gandhi International Airport.
By tampering with GPS trackers and using duplicate keys, they siphoned thousands of liters of ATF from tankers and sold it on the black market disguised as Mineral Turpentine Oil.
Decoding the modus operandi of the accused
This operation ran for nearly three years, with about 5,000-liter of fuel stolen daily—causing big losses to public funds.
The gang faked delivery records and hid their tracks using forged tools.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided their godown in Mundka and seized massive tankers full of stolen fuel, cash, fake equipment, and vehicles.
All six accused are now under arrest as the investigation continues to track down others involved and fully dismantle the network.
