Delhi: Teen killed by friends over relationship dispute, body found in canal
Ankit, an 18-year-old from Sadar Bazar, was allegedly murdered by two friends, Ashish and Vishal Dhilod, in Delhi after a conflict over his relationship with one of their cousins.
Missing since November 18, Ankit's body was found four days later in Munak Canal—his hands and feet tied with shoelaces and signs of sharp injuries on his head.
Police have registered a murder case at Samaypur Badli station.
How the case unfolded
The investigation picked up when police arrested Ashish (23) for an unrelated matter; during questioning, he admitted to killing Ankit because of the ongoing relationship despite warnings.
Together with Vishal Dhilod (23), they had lured Ankit to Tikri Kalan Metro Station, taken him to a house in Gaddha Colony, drugged and attacked him with a sharp weapon before dumping his body near Bawana Hanuman temple.
Key evidence like the murder weapon and vehicles used have been recovered as the case moves forward.
