Delhi's toxic air: Eye drops, masks, and nebulizers flying off shelves

India

Delhi's winter smog is so bad right now that pharmacies are seeing a rush for eye drops, masks, and even nebulizers.
With the Air Quality Index stuck in the "very poor" to "severe" zone (think 366-418), people are dealing with stinging eyes and tough breathing.
Eye drop sales have jumped 10-15%, with folks coming back every week or so for more relief.
As one pharmacist explained, whenever pollution spikes, they see more people asking for eye drops.

Why it matters

It's not just about dry eyes—families are also grabbing nebulizers (especially for babies and older relatives) and stocking up on masks for schoolkids.
One shop even sold five nebulizers in three days, including to a foreign couple whose infant had breathing discomfort.
Instead of just buying cough syrup or one mask per home, people are loading up on anything that helps them get through this smoggy season.
