Faridabad physician falsely poses as cardiologist
A doctor in Faridabad, Pankaj Mohan Sharma, has been caught pretending to be a certified cardiologist and performing over 50 heart procedures at Badshah Khan Civil Hospital. Sharma used the registration number of a real cardiologist, Dr. Pankaj Mohan, and falsely claimed advanced medical degrees. Between July 2024 and February 2025, he treated more than 4,100 heart patients—tragically, at least three people died under his care. He even used another name, Kshitij Mohan, and was also involved in the film industry.
How the fraud was discovered
Police found that Sharma only had an MBBS degree and wasn't qualified to do any cardiac procedures. The real Dr. Mohan filed a complaint after realizing his identity was stolen. Advocate Sanjay Gupta also reported that Sharma's documents were forged. Now, Sharma and five officials from Meditrina Hospital (which ran the heart center) have been charged as police continue their investigation into how this fraud went on for so long.
