Five young men in Delhi pulled off a high-tech scam by using AI to clone a Mumbai company's managing director's voice, tricking the deputy general manager into transferring over ₹10 crore.
The money was quickly split up and sent to 63 different bank accounts.
Vikas arrest prompts Mumbai Delhi probe
The fraud started to unravel when one of them, Vikas, 22, tried withdrawing ₹9 lakh from a Sarita Vihar bank.
Thanks to an alert manager, police stepped in and arrested him, leading them straight to his four partners.
Now, both Mumbai and Delhi police are teaming up to dig deeper into this new kind of AI-powered crime.
