Ghaziabad couple arrested for landlady's murder over unpaid rent

A couple in Ghaziabad, Ajay and Akriti Gupta, have been arrested after their landlady, Deepshikha Sharma, was found dead in their apartment.
Police say the Guptas hadn't paid rent for four months. It is suspected that when Sharma came to ask for the rent, an altercation broke out.
Tragically, her body was later discovered inside a suitcase at their home.

How the case unfolded

Sharma, a teacher by profession, went missing after visiting the Guptas's flat.
Her maid Meena grew worried and checked CCTV footage—she saw Sharma enter but never leave.
When Meena stopped the couple as they tried to leave with a large suitcase, police searched the flat and found Sharma's body showing signs of assault.
The investigation is ongoing based on her family's complaint.
