India
Heads up, Himachal! A western disturbance is rolling in from February 8, bringing rain and snow across the region starting February 9, according to the IMD in Shimla.
Expect a few dry days on February 5, 7, and 8, but keep an eye out for light showers or snow in higher areas on February 6.
Minimum, maximum temperatures to rise gradually
Over the past day, several parts of Himachal saw light rain and snowfall—Kalpa topped the charts with 10.8cm of snow while Kasol got the most rain at 11mm.
Temperatures dropped sharply by up to five degrees; Kukumseri hit a freezing -12.2°C.
The IMD says minimum and maximum temperatures are very likely to rise gradually by 2-3 degrees Celsius across the state over the next three to four days.
