IMD approves Delhi's cloud seeding initiative

Delhi is testing out cloud seeding—basically, making artificial rain—to help clear its famously bad air.
The India Meteorological Department just approved this pilot project, which is being run by IIT Kanpur as part of efforts to address air pollution in 2025.

TL;DR

Delhi's air quality gets bad every winter

Every winter, Delhi's air quality gets so bad it's hard to breathe.
The plan is to run five cloud seeding trials on the city's outskirts, hoping the rain will wash away some of that dangerous smog.
Alongside this, the city's also rolling out anti-smog guns and tougher rules for factories and vehicles—all aiming to make Delhi's air safer for everyone.
