IMD warns of severe cold wave in North Karnataka
India
Heads up, North Karnataka!
The IMD and KSNDMC say a strong cold wave is coming your way from December 19 to 23, with the chilliest days expected on December 20 and 21.
Temperatures could drop 4-6°C below normal in the north and Malnad regions, while even coastal areas might feel a 2-3°C dip.
Why bother?
It's already pretty cold—Bidar hit just 11.6°C, Kalaburagi was at 12.9°C, and some northern districts are seeing lows between 8-14°C.
The KSNDMC is urging everyone to bundle up, especially kids, seniors, and anyone working outside since the risk of cold-related illnesses goes up when temperatures fall this much.
Farmers are also being asked to protect their crops and animals during this chilly spell.
