India, Pakistan swap prisoner and fishermen lists

India and Pakistan just swapped updated lists of prisoners and fishermen held in each other's jails, sticking to their 2008 pact for transparency and a bit of humanity.
India shared names of 382 civilian prisoners and 81 fishermen it believes are Pakistani.
Pakistan handed over details for 53 civilian prisoners and 193 fishermen thought to be Indian.

TL;DR

Want to keep humanitarian issues front-and-center

It's more than paperwork—these exchanges are about real people stuck far from home, often just for crossing invisible lines at sea or borders.
India also pushed for faster releases of those who've finished their sentences and asked for better safety checks on its citizens in Pakistani custody.
Both sides say they want to keep humanitarian issues front-and-center, even when politics get tense.
