India to serve Hafiz Saeed summons in Lahore over Pahalgam
India
India is making a formal move to serve a court summons on Lashkar-e-Taiba founder Hafiz Saeed in Lahore, using diplomatic channels.
Saeed faces a nonbailable warrant from July 2026 for allegedly being involved in the conspiracy behind the 2025 Pahalgam terror attack.
The Ministry of External Affairs wants to officially notify him and offer him a chance to appear in court.
India may try Saeed under BNSS
If Saeed doesn't show up, India could hold the trial without him under its new BNSS law, basically making sure all legal steps are followed before moving ahead.
This also puts extra pressure on Pakistan, where Saeed is based, and highlights India's efforts to secure his appearance through diplomatic channels as part of tackling cross-border terrorism.
