India to test new hypersonic missile, Dhvani, by end-2025

India

India is getting ready to test its new hypersonic missile, Dhvani, by the end of this year.
Built by DRDO, Dhvani is designed to fly at over Mach 5 (that's more than 7,400km/h), making it super tough for current defense systems like Iron Dome or THAAD to stop.
This marks a big step up in India's defense tech game.

Dhvani could be more powerful than BrahMos

Dhvani builds on earlier DRDO work and uses advanced scramjet engines—recent tests even set records for sustained flight.
It could be even more powerful than BrahMos and puts India alongside the US, Russia, and China in the hypersonic weapons race.
If all goes well with testing in 2025, this could seriously boost India's security edge in the region.
