Indian delegation heads to Saudi after tragic bus crash

India

A tragic bus accident in Saudi Arabia has claimed the lives of several Indian Umrah pilgrims, most from Telangana.
The bus, carrying over 40 Indians from Mecca to Madina, collided with an oil tanker early Monday.
In response, the Indian government is sending an official team to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday to support affected families and oversee relief.

What's being done for the victims and families?

The delegation—led by Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer and senior MEA official Arun Kumar Chatterjee—will help with last rites and ensure families get the help they need.
Meanwhile, Indian embassy teams are working closely with Saudi authorities to identify victims quickly and assist relatives traveling there.
The MEA has shared condolences and promised full support during this difficult time.
