Indian Railways successfully tests Kavach on Vande Bharat sleeper
Indian Railways just pulled off a successful high-speed test of its Kavach automatic safety system on the Vande Bharat sleeper train.
The trial ran between Hazrat Nizamuddin and Palwal, with the 16-coach train hitting speeds up to 160km/h and covering nearly 50km in only 40 minutes.
Even with a temporary slowdown near Faridabad due to track work, officials said the communication between crew and station was spot-on and the test went smoothly.

The Vande Bharat sleeper is built for comfy overnight journeys: think 16 air-conditioned coaches, upgraded berths, charging points, and showers in First AC.
It can fit up to 823 passengers and is made by BEML right here in India.
More trains are coming soon: BEML has 10 new sets in production and plans to launch sleeper services on routes like Bengaluru-Mumbai.
With Kavach now tested at high speed, these trains are set for safer travel across India's rail network.
