Kerala: Sabarimala pilgrimage bus crash leaves 3 injured
India
A bus carrying Sabarimala pilgrims crashed on Monday morning at Thulappally-Alappattu junction in Pathanamthitta, seriously injuring three people.
The bus lost control, hit two cars, and then a tourist bus before coming to a stop.
The seriously injured were taken to a hospital at Erumely, while those with minor injuries were taken to hospitals at Nilackal.
Locals call for stricter safety after repeated route violations
Locals say the accident happened because pilgrim vehicles keep using an old road that's actually off-limits by court order—something that's been ignored during the busy pilgrimage season.
Residents are urging authorities to enforce the rules more strictly to keep everyone safe on these routes.
