Kochi airport receives hoax bomb threat
On June 13, 2025, Kochi International Airport got an email claiming a pipe bomb would go off there and at Anna University, supposedly to mark the "unfair hanging of Afzal Guru." Thankfully, the warning turned out to be fake—no bombs were found.
TL;DR
Authorities on email threat
Airport officials quickly gathered their Bomb Threat Assessment Committee, who decided the email wasn't specific or credible. This isn't the first time—it follows another false alarm in April about an RDX explosive at the airport. Both times, security teams did full sweeps and found nothing. These repeated hoaxes have pushed Kerala authorities to tighten security while they work on tracking down whoever's behind these emails.
