Koraput coffee from Odisha made its mark at the 18th BRICS summit in New Delhi, included in kits for delegates and journalists.
Grown by tribal farmers in Nandapur and Machhkund, this Arabica brew (branded "Tiger Bright") caught international attention.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida called it a proud moment for Odisha and a boost for India's "Vocal for Local" movement.
TDCCOL hits record 102.54 metric tons
The Tribal Development Co-operative Corporation of Odisha Ltd. (TDCCOL) has been key to Koraput coffee's rise since 2019.
In the latest season, TDCCOL hit a record by procuring 102.54 metric tons of coffee fruit in the 2025-26 season, up from 34.68 metric tons in 2022-23, directly supporting around 360 tribal families.
