Low-Pressure area emerges as monsoon strengthens over north

India

A new low-pressure area is forming near the Odisha-West Bengal coast and should show up by Thursday.
This system will bring widespread rain from the West Coast all the way to northern and eastern India, likely making the monsoon arrive earlier than usual in many places.

System likely to push monsoon further into northwest India

The IMD says this slow-moving system will boost rainfall and help push the monsoon further into states like Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and UP.
More rain means better soil moisture for farmers and a chance to refill water supplies—especially helpful for areas that have been running dry lately.
