Man arrested for family murder in Erode

In Erode, Tamil Nadu, 33-year-old Kavin Prasad has been detained after police say he killed his wife Amaravathi and their young son Aathiran.
At first, Prasad told everyone it was a murder-suicide, but his story didn't sit right with the victims' relatives—they pushed for a deeper investigation.

Bodies of victims sent for post-mortem

Prasad's in-laws refused to accept the bodies until a proper inquiry was done.
Thanks to their insistence, a post-mortem revealed multiple injuries that contradicted Prasad's version of events.
When questioned by police, Prasad admitted he'd killed both his wife and son after a family dispute.
His confession has led to his detention as the case moves forward.
