Mandatory face authentication for Anganwadi beneficiaries
Starting July 1, Anganwadi centers across India will use face recognition tech through the Poshan tracker app.
This upgrade is meant to make sure food rations reach the right kids (aged 3-6) and to keep a closer check on attendance, all in an effort to cut down on system leakages and boost transparency.
TL;DR
How verification will work
From August, anyone newly signing up—like pregnant women, young moms, and adolescent girls—will need Aadhaar-based face verification.
For kids under 6, guardians must provide their Aadhaar details; for those aged 3-6, photos will be taken during service delivery using liveliness checks.
State officials are being asked to help families get set up smoothly by verifying mobile numbers and photos.
