Ministry of Defense hails Cochin Shipyard's delivery of INS Mangrol
India
Cochin Shipyard just delivered INS Mangrol, a high-tech anti-submarine vessel, to the Indian Navy.
Built with over 80% Indian-made parts, this ship can handle underwater surveillance, hunt submarines, and even deal with mines.
The Ministry of Defense called it another milestone in the Indian Navy's indigenous shipbuilding journey and a reaffirmation of the government's vision of "Aatmanirbhar Bharat."
INS Mangrol armed, named after Mangrol
Powered by water jets and packed with torpedoes, anti-submarine rockets, and advanced sonar/radar gear, INS Mangrol is ready for action.
It's named after Gujarat's coastal town Mangrol and honors the original INS Mangrol minesweeper that served until 2004, showing how India's shipbuilding skills keep growing stronger.
