Modi meets Pezeshkian, sends Rosh Hashanah wishes to Netanyahu
India
Prime Minister Modi just sent warm Rosh Hashanah wishes to Israel's prime minister, Netanyahu, right after welcoming Iran's president, Pezeshkian, at the BRICS summit in New Delhi.
With tensions rising in West Asia, India is clearly trying to keep good relations with both sides.
Modi and Pezeshkian stress Hormuz safety
During the summit, Modi and Pezeshkian focused on keeping seafarers safe and ensuring ships can move freely through the crucial Strait of Hormuz.
Earlier this year, Iran blocked that waterway after U.S.-Israeli strikes, which hit global energy hard.
Despite cordial ties with both countries, India has condemned Iranian attacks on Gulf nations and keeps pushing for dialogue and regional peace since conflict flared up in February 2026.
