Mumbai exceeds monthly rainfall average as Colaba records 542mm
Mumbai has already seen more rain than usual for June, and there are still a few days left.
Colaba crossed its monthly average with 548.2mm of rain by June 26, while Santacruz lagged behind at 478mm—about 10% below its normal.
The IMD says this difference is due to shifting monsoon winds and heavier downpours hitting some areas more than others.
TL;DR
More rain expected in Mumbai
With a yellow alert out for Mumbai and nearby districts till the end of the month, expect more heavy showers that could mean waterlogging or travel delays.
Some places like Raigad and Ratnagiri are even on orange alert for intense rainfall.
After record-breaking rains in May too, it's clear that the monsoon is making its presence felt—and daily life might need some quick adjustments.
