Narendra Modi and Xi Jinping meet, disagree on border 1st
India
Prime Minister Modi and President Xi met up this Saturday, hoping to smooth things over after the Galwan clash in 2020.
But they walked away with two different takes: China wants to work on the border problem and build better ties at the same time, while India insists that real peace at the border has to come first before any big improvements in their relationship.
Both sides seek fair boundary fix
Even with these differences, both countries agreed they need a fair and reasonable fix for the boundary issue, something that works for both in the long run.
So, talks aren't off; they're just complicated.
