Narendra Modi calls India a bright spot, cites reform shift

At the Economic Times World Leaders Forum 2026, Prime Minister Modi compared the Delhi Metro with big-city metros like New York, Hong Kong, and Paris, saying India is a "bright spot of growth and hope" and that its reform journey shifted from a "punishment model" under earlier license raj governments to an "incentive-based approach."

Modi also talked about why countries should tackle challenges together.

Quoting India's G-20 motto, "One Earth, One Family, One Future," he emphasized that this spirit of a shared future, along with the accompanying sense of responsibility, offers solutions to many of the challenges facing the 21st-century world.
