Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate Delhi-Dehradun Expressway April 14
The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is all set for its big opening on April 14, 2026, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi doing the honors.
Built to help decongest Delhi and make road trips smoother, this expressway starts at Akshardham Temple and winds through Baghpat, Muzaffarnagar, and Saharanpur before reaching Dehradun.
It's designed to take a lot of pressure off the crowded Delhi-Meerut route.
Six-lane Delhi-Dehradun ₹12,000cr expressway cuts time
Costing ₹12,000 crore, this six-lane highway lets you zip between Delhi and Dehradun in just 2.5 hours instead of the usual 6.5 hours.
There are seven interchanges for easy access, plus a spur to Haridwar and connections to hill stations via the Char Dhaam Highway.
The project also stands out for its green features: think a massive 12-kilometer elevated wildlife corridor (the longest in Asia) and a special tunnel near Daat Kali temple.
