Rajasthan: IAS officer files domestic violence complaint against husband
IAS officer Bharti Dixit has filed a police complaint against her husband, fellow IAS officer Ashish Modi, accusing him of prolonged domestic violence.
She alleges years of physical assault, illegal confinement, and threats to her life, with the abuse reportedly worsening after their daughter was born in 2018.
Dixit says Modi coerced her into marriage in 2014 by exploiting her emotional vulnerability when her father was battling cancer.
Modi allegedly abducted Dixit last month
According to the FIR filed on November 7 in Jaipur, Dixit claims Modi—sometimes under the influence and linked to criminal elements—assaulted her and even abducted her last month with help from associates.
She says she was confined for hours, threatened with harm to herself and family, and pressured to mislead her father over the phone.
The case is being investigated under multiple criminal sections; Dixit has asked for immediate police protection for herself and her family as authorities look into allegations of abuse and misuse of official resources.
