Speeding bus hits crowd at Bihar Chhathi ceremony, 5 dead

A late-night celebration in Bankatwa Parautola village, Bihar, turned tragic when a speeding bus ran into a crowd gathered for a Chhathi ceremony.
Five people lost their lives and two others were injured while enjoying an orchestra performance that had drawn so many people; the crowd spilled onto the road.
Bihar bus driver escaped, vehicle seized
The bus was headed from Gorakhpur to Bettiah when it lost control around 11pm.
Two victims died instantly, and three more passed away during treatment at the hospital.
The driver abandoned the bus and escaped, leaving locals shaken. Police have seized the vehicle.
