Supreme Court Justice K V Viswanathan withdraws from Alchemist case

In a surprising but honest move, Supreme Court Justice K V Viswanathan has pulled out of a case involving Alchemist Asset Reconstruction Company.
After the verdict was already reserved, he had previously represented this company as a lawyer.
Wanting to keep things fair, he decided to withdraw from the case.
Chief Justice asked to reconstitute bench
Since Justice Viswanathan stepped aside, the earlier decision from March 17 has been recalled.
Now, the CJI was asked to reconstitute the bench so the whole matter can be heard again, this time for a fresh hearing.
