Survivors recount harrowing escape from Rohini building blaze
A huge fire broke out in a multi-storey building in Delhi's Rohini on Tuesday evening, leaving four people dead and three injured.
The blaze started on the ground floor—where several manufacturing units operate—and spread quickly.
Firefighters worked through the night for over 14 hours to finally get it under control by Wednesday morning.
Survivors described their desperate escapes
Survivors described their desperate escapes: Virendra made it out through the main gate despite burn injuries, Geeta jumped from a first-floor balcony when flames blocked her way, and Sanju leapt to a nearby balcony from the second floor.
Locals said no explosions were heard but flammable materials stored upstairs likely fueled the fire.
Police responded within minutes of getting emergency calls at 7:29pm.
Authorities are still working to identify those who died using DNA tests.
