Teen fights off attacking leopard with bare hands
An 18-year-old from Sarli village, Pravesh Sharma, had a wild start to his morning when a leopard attacked him while he was out getting milk.
Thinking fast, Pravesh grabbed the leopard's jaws and held on for more than 10 minutes before managing to kill it with stones.
He ended up with multiple injuries but was treated and sent home the same day.
Forest officials praised his courage and gave him ₹5,000 as immediate support.
Locals demand trap cages
This isn't an isolated case: There have been recent leopard sightings and attacks in the region.
Just days before Pravesh's encounter, a motorcyclist was attacked nearby, and last December saw more incidents that left one person dead and several others hurt.
Locals are now pushing for trap cages to help keep their communities safe.
