Tragic crocodile attack claims woman's life in Odisha

A 45-year-old woman lost her life after a crocodile attacked her while she was bathing in the Kharasrota river near Bhitarkanika National Park, Kendrapara district, Odisha.
The crocodile pulled her underwater, and she didn't survive.

TL;DR

26 deaths due to crocodile attacks in last 3 years

The forest department will provide ₹10 lakh compensation to her family after legal formalities.
Sadly, this isn't an isolated incident—Bhitarkanika's saltwater crocodile population has grown to 1,826 (with over 600 large enough to threaten people), and there have been 26 deaths in the last three years.
Officials keep warning locals to stay out of risky waters and have set up barricades at many river spots, but the danger remains real for villagers nearby.
