Tragic drowning incident amid Chhattisgarh rains
In Surguja, Chhattisgarh, four people—including two kids—are missing after being swept away by the suddenly swollen Maini River on Thursday evening.
Heavy rain caused the river to rise fast, catching Somari (45), Ankita (8), Binawati Nagvanshi (30), and her son Aaryas (3) off guard while they were out collecting mushrooms near their village.

Rescue teams on the ground
Rescue teams from the State Disaster Response Force and local police jumped into action right after the incident.
But with heavy rain still pounding the area and strong currents in the river, finding the missing has been really tough.
Officials say they're not giving up, but hopes of a rescue are fading as conditions stay challenging.
