Uber driver returns passenger's wallet, earns praise online
A Bengaluru Uber driver named Toguru noticed a passenger's wallet in his car and tracked the passenger down at a busy conference to return it to its owner.
Zoho CEO Sridhar Vembu shared the story online, praised Toguru's grace and dignity, and said this reflects how India is intrinsically a high trust society.
The post quickly caught people's attention for highlighting everyday honesty.
Driver's honesty sparked a conversation online
After the post went viral, others chimed in with their own stories of lost items being returned by drivers in Bengaluru, like shopping bags worth thousands or even passports.
Interestingly, the wallet's owner gave a token appreciation amount (which the driver accepted reluctantly) and also asked that Uber India acknowledge the driver's honesty.
The whole conversation reminded people that acts of kindness still happen all around us, even if we sometimes forget to notice them.
