In Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, a woman allegedly stole gold jewelry worth ₹50 lakh that had been kept for her sister-in-law's wedding.
The jewelry was meant for her sister-in-law's wedding on November 11.
The theft happened at home on October 23 and was reported by the husband, Akram (also known as Kalua), the next day.
Jewelry recovered, legal proceedings underway
Police found that the woman took the jewelry because of ongoing issues with her sister-in-law and didn't want her to receive it.
She confessed to sending the stolen ornaments to her parents' house.
Thankfully, police recovered all the jewelry and returned it to Akram's family. Legal proceedings are underway.
