Uttarakhand raises MBBS interns' stipend to ₹25,000 for government colleges

Big news for medical students: Uttarakhand has raised the monthly stipend for MBBS interns in its government colleges from ₹17,000 to ₹25,000.
The decision, made in Friday's Cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, covers five colleges across Srinagar, Haldwani, Dehradun, Haridwar, and Almora.
This move aims to make life a bit easier for young doctors starting out.
Cabinet approves out-of-turn jobs for athletes
The Cabinet also gave the green light to a plan under Sports Policy 2021 that offers "out-of-turn" government jobs to athletes who win medals at national or international events.
With 243 posts opening up across departments like Sports and Youth Welfare, the policy also covers out-of-turn government jobs for eligible athletes.
