The police received a complaint through the emergency helpline 112 early on Saturday and immediately launched a rescue operation. DCP (south-east) Sarah Fathima said, "On Friday midnight at 1am, eight people posing as police took four manager-level employees working at a BPO in Koramangala police station limits under the pretext of an inquiry and kidnapped them." She added that they forced the operations manager to transfer ₹8.90 lakh online to four bank accounts linked to the accused.

Accused arrested, vehicles seized in swift police action

The police complaint was registered at 4:30am on Saturday, after which four teams were formed to track down the culprits. DCP Fathima confirmed that eight accused have been arrested and two vehicles used in the kidnapping have been seized. "The accused have tried to get as much money as they can," she said, adding that they had planned to deliver more cash but were nabbed before doing so.
