Cognizant's new ProHance tool: What you should know

Cognizant has begun training select executives on ProHance, a tool that keeps an eye on employee activity by tracking mouse and keyboard use, plus which apps and sites are open.
The tool flags you as "idle" if there's no movement for five minutes.

It's about improving workflows—not spying on individuals

Cognizant says ProHance isn't meant to monitor individual performance but to help teams spot and fix process bottlenecks, mostly when clients ask for it.
The company adds that employees are told how the tool works and their consent is taken.
The data collected helps identify inefficiencies in workflows and supports process transformations.
