India to raise natural gas supply to 90% April 6
India is set to ramp up natural gas supply to fertilizer and industrial units, aiming for 90% of their usual needs by April 2026, a solid jump from the current operating urea plants are now steady at around 70-75% of their last six-month average consumption.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas says natural gas supply will be increased to approximately 90% effective April 6, 2026.
Households, CNG fully supplied, industries 80%
Households (via piped gas) and CNG transport are getting top priority with full supply, while other industries will receive 80%.
Despite global tensions, there's no reported dry-out at LPG distributorships.
The government's also rolling out small LPG cylinders for migrant workers (over 500,000 have already been distributed) and taking steps to secure enough fertilizer with fresh urea imports.
