KPMG sees $90 billion India data center opportunity by FY35
India's data center scene is booming, with a KPMG report predicting a massive $90 billion opportunity for infrastructure players by FY35.
The opportunity is expected to rise from $30 billion by FY30 and expected to triple as data center capacity jumps to 7 to 7.5 GW by 2030.
This surge is fueling demand in construction, power systems, cooling tech, networking, and security, basically everything needed to keep digital life running.
Design and construction $27 billion lead
Design and construction are set to lead the pack with $27 billion in opportunities by FY35.
Cooling systems will add another $24 billion, while internal power infrastructure brings in $18 billion.
External power systems are looking at $12 billion, and network plus security solutions will each contribute $5 billion.
AI is also shaking things up: its heavy workloads mean more advanced cooling and power setups are needed.
Report notes need for local capabilities
India has solid skills in civil construction and fiber-optic production but still depends on imports for advanced tech.
The report notes that boosting local capabilities and teamwork among stakeholders will be key as the sector scales capacity to meet demand through 2030.
