PNGRB authorizes nearly 1,800km LPG pipelines connecting 6 states
Big news for India's energy scene: PNGRB-authorised projects to build nearly 1,800km of new LPG pipelines.
This upgrade will boost the country's pipeline network by over 23%, stretching it close to 9,500km and connecting six states: Telangana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, and Goa.
The main routes include Cherlapally to Nagpur, Jhansi to Sitarganj, and Shikrapur to Goa and Hubli.
GAIL to move imported gas inland
Developed by GAIL (India) Ltd. these pipelines are set to make LPG transport smoother and safer by cutting down on road tankers.
Plus, they'll help get imported gas from coastal terminals all the way inland, making supply more reliable during busy seasons or unexpected hiccups.
The extra pipeline space also works as backup storage for added flexibility.
