Rapido introduces 3-tier delivery pricing for food service
Rapido, best known for bike taxis, is now rolling out Ownly—a food delivery platform that promises clear pricing and zero hidden charges.
The pilot kicks off in Bengaluru by early July, with plans to expand across India soon.
Ownly's simple 3-tier fee structure
Ownly uses a simple three-tier fee system: ₹50 plus GST for orders above ₹400, ₹25 plus GST for ₹100-₹400 orders, and for anything under ₹100, the fee is split—₹20 from you and ₹10 from the restaurant.
Unlike Zomato or Swiggy, there are no platform fees or commissions here.
How the fees compare with Zomato/Swiggy
For bigger orders, Ownly's flat fees could mean more savings compared to other apps that charge restaurants high commissions (which usually get passed on to you).
But if you're just craving a small snack, the combined fees might end up higher than what you'd pay elsewhere.
So while it shakes things up for large orders, small ones might still be better on other platforms.
