SBI mCash service ends soon: What alternatives do you have?
What's the story
The State Bank of India (SBI) has announced that it will be discontinuing its mCASH service on OnlineSBI and YONO Lite from November 30, 2025. The change means customers will no longer be able to send or claim money using the mCASH feature. In light of this, SBI is recommending users switch to other secure digital payment methods like UPI, IMPS, NEFT, and RTGS for their future transactions.

SBI mCash service: A convenient money transfer option
The SBI mCASH service allowed recipients to claim money sent by SBI customers through OnlineSBI or State Bank Anywhere. Any SBI customer with Internet Banking could transfer funds to another person without registering them as a beneficiary, just by using their mobile number or email ID. The recipient could then claim the money either through the State Bank mCASH mobile app or via an mCASH link on OnlineSBI.
New methods
Alternative money transfer options for SBI customers
With the discontinuation of the mCASH service, SBI customers can now use the "BHIM SBI Pay" app to send and receive money, pay bills online, recharge, shop, etc. To send money via this app, users have to log in and select the 'Pay' option. They can then choose payment options like VPA or Account and IFSC or QR Code and enter other required details before selecting a debit account from linked accounts and clicking on the 'Tick' mark.
