SEBI likely to launch SEBI SETU to simplify adviser registrations
SEBI is likely to launch a digital platform called SEBI SETU this month to make it much simpler for people to register and work as investment advisers in India.
Right now, there are more than 220 million demat accounts but fewer than 1,000 registered advisers, so SEBI wants to bridge that gap and open up the field.
SEBI SETU single-window registration and compliance
SEBI SETU will act as a single-window system for both new and existing advisers, guiding them through registration and compliance.
The rules are getting friendlier too: now, any graduate with the right certification can sign up, and you don't need to submit a CIBIL report upfront.
Advisers can also give second opinions on pre-distributed financial products (with fees capped at 2.5% per year), making it easier for more people to get involved in the finance world.
