SEBI seeks 10 minutes closing auction at 3:30pm.
Business
SEBI is looking to tweak its new closing auction setup after traders raised concerns about wild price swings.
The main changes? Cutting the auction window from 20 to 10 minutes and moving it to 3:30pm right after regular trading wraps up.
SEBI proposes VWAP settlement for derivatives
SEBI also wants to update how settlement prices for derivatives are calculated on expiration days for more than 200 stocks.
SEBI is suggesting two options: using a blended volume-weighted average price of the final 30 minutes of continuous trading and the 10-minute auction or using only the VWAP of the final 30-minute of continuous trading.
Traders and market participants have until October 3, 2026, to share their thoughts on these proposals.
